Wall plays sound through
Use the Bluetooth speaker for music and stories. If a USB speakerphone is plugged in, video calls switch to it automatically to avoid echo.

The start screen of each wall shows the people who live here, as profiles. Choose who appears where.

Updates install between 2 and 5 AM, never during a call. If a new version doesn't start, the wall goes back to the previous one by itself. Your photos, recordings and family tree are never touched.
Cloud backup
Encrypted copy of the tree, messages, photos and recordings in Amazon S3, every night. Set up on the Pi: see docs/CLOUD.md.

Connect a calendar (Google, iCloud, school)
Google Calendar: on a computer open Settings → your calendar → Secret address in iCal format, copy it and paste it here. The wall reads it every 15 minutes (read-only).
The list remembers which store each item comes from, so next time it goes there automatically.

Add a child
Add a child once for each language. Pick the level by how much of that language they know, not by age: a 6-year-old who has never written a Malayalam letter starts Malayalam at UKG week 1.
Pictures for this week
Each word card on the wall shows a picture, like a textbook. Tap a word to use your own photo instead (for example, your own cat for ಬೆಕ್ಕು, or Ajji for ಅಜ್ಜಿ).
Still to record
The grandparent app asks family to say these, so the wall plays a real voice in the lesson. Malayalam items need a Malayalam speaker's app.

Works with most recipe sites (they publish the recipe in a standard format). The photo, ingredients and steps come in automatically.

People who can call and message the wall
Each person gets their own link. Send it once (WhatsApp is fine); they open it on their phone and choose Add to Home Screen.
Wall on the web
Opens the full wall in any browser: Kids/Adult profiles, lessons, calendar, photos and calls. When family calls, every open wall rings and the first one to answer takes the call. Speaker, screen and gesture settings stay on the Pi.
